Bob Cotton adds: Dig this! - remember the Charles and Ray Eames Studio production 'Powers of Ten'? You get the same vertiginous experience jumping down through the levels of Active Worlds - take a look yourself at http://mapper.activeworlds.com/aw/. By the way, the Powers of Ten book and video (pre-Photoshop - all airbrush and paste-up montage) were inspired by a HAND-DRAWN book by (I think) Kees van Boeke called 'The Universe in 10 Jumps' (1957) - for similar stuff take a look at http://nedwww.ipac.caltech.edu/level5/Boeke/Boeke1.html and for a Powers of Ten lookalike see http://micro.magnet.fsu.edu/primer/java/scienceopticsu/powersof10/
